Junemas!
Welcome to June! The busiest month of the year for our family. So many birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, weddings, BBQ’s, vacations, Father’s Day and on and on. For us, this is busier than the holiday season.
However, all those things I listed are blessings and evidence of living life to the fullest. Watching our kids, grandkids and other relatives graduate from their perspective schools is such a blessing and I thank my God that our children are becoming successful and not following in our footsteps. I did graduate from high school on time, but I was high and had been for at least three years and I continued to stay high, drunk, partying and living my life La Vida Loca.
My heart and soul have rejoiced every June for the past thirty-three or more years because of my husband’s birth and five of my grandkids, even my brother’s birthday is in June. Plus, one of my nephews and two of my dearest friends, on the same day! My heart rejoices for our wedding anniversary; this June we’ve been legally married for forty years! Praise the Lord. And I am still deeply in love with my husband, he is amazing. Before I got clean, I changed men like some people do socks! And now, thanks to God and

NA, I couldn’t imagine my life without him.
So, you see what a huge blessing June is to me. It’s basically the living proof reminder every year of the many wonderful things God has laid on me. I pray I also recognize and appreciate what He has done for me, so as I blog through this month, it’ll have plenty of mentions of these blessings.
Last Thursday I had the pleasure of watching one of my grandson’s graduate from high school, he is such a sweetie and a cutie, that kid has a bright future and is going places for sure. Next week, his twin sister graduates from her high school. My beautiful, adorable, smart granddaughter who is headed to nursing school. I am so proud of her too. She is following in her older brother’s footsteps of working in the health and medicine field. He is a doctor, and my oldest grandson.

And this very day, June first, my brother has been married for fifty-seven years! Yes, that’s a big damn deal, coming from a childhood where our mother married twenty-two times, longevity in relationships is a miracle to us. Although my grandparents were married about sixty-five years. Amazing!
And lest we forget, we are still in our 40-40-40 year! Our anniversary this month will bring in the last 40 of that sequence. I had
learned at the end of 2024 that forty is a spiritual number, and it’s our number this year, forty years clean for each of us and our wedding anniversary. Whooo hooo.
The cool thing about that too is, we’re going on a big trip to the Islands with some of our kids and other people this month. I’m calling it our last big hoorah. God sure has been good to us. I pray all good and wonderful things for you all as well. I hope ya’ll enjoy June like I intend to. Fun in recovery!
Question of the Week: Any plans for June
