Simultaneously
Let the games begin! Well, school is out, festivities of various sorts have been happening daily. At least for our boy! He’s gone to a great theme park with school, he’s spent the night at cousins, seen a blockbuster move, went to a friend’s birthday party until late. And now, he’s off with his dad playing miniature golf and lord knows what! Last weekend he took him to a River resort and to a Pit-Bull concert. Wow!
And this is only the beginning of the summer vacation for him. In fact, it’s not even summer yet. That doesn’t really happen for three more weeks, lol. I’m glad he’s having fun and hope he is building memories to carry him through the eighth grade and beyond.

Yet, here we are, my husband and I, kick’n it at home and we like it. We have our own good times booked and we’re looking forward to it. Still, for me, getting stuff done at home and chill’n, while simultaneously ordering birthday presents and planning the parties is the name of the game right now.
I will enjoy the quiet time while I have it and simultaneously look forward to our outings and times with friends and family. I am working hard and organizing my home and life. Files, wills, and paperwork of so many years’ worth of work, school, and assorted various life happenings. I can’t wait until it’s all done.
At the same time, I know that it is time for me to work on me, to get fit and healthy. To work on my dreams and goals. To work on my steps, my recovery. I see no reason why I can’t do both simultaneously, that is, to let the good times roll while getting my house and self in order. It’s about the balance I would say. I do not have to be so linear in my thinking or actions I am going to strive for both with God’s help.
Question of the Week: Do you have summer plans? Do you have plans to get your house in order? How about your program? What step are we on? How will you balance these things while doing them all simultaneously?
