Another action-packed week in the life of the Booma and her families’ adventures!  Lol.  The first item is picking up where I left off last week.  I had mentioned last week that it was the boys last week at the school he was attending, and he had finals there and then would be done with that school. I said he was hanging on by a thread and needed me here at home to help him.  I helped him get some missing assignments in and study for finals.  He got four A’s, and two B’s, yay! By the grace of God, and a little effort on his part, I think he passed all his classes, even though he had been negligent in doing his daily work.  I hope it was enough to pass the classes he was failing.

Then there was day of the Ultra Sound, which turned out my daughter was getting a root canal that day and ask me to drive her. You see this is all done in a town thirty-five miles away from me.  So, I did, I had to cancel a lunch date with an old friend, but my baby girl comes first.  She doesn’t ask me for much, so I want to be there for her when she does ask.  As it was, her appointment was taking too long, and I had to leave to go to my appointment on the other side of the town.

She had forgot her phone at home and so when she was done she walked over to a super Walmart and said she’d be out front.  My appointment took longer than expected too and by the time I got back over there, I could not find her. I had picked up a couple of items for myself and looked and looked for her.  When I checked out of the self-serve register, I got $80 cash back.  I was walking the length of the store again and found her, yay!  We headed home.

I got her home, visited a while and then took off, I stopped at a place to get something and it was there that I realized I did not grab my cash back money.  Ugh! I had been so stressed about her I wasn’t thinking straight.  I pulled into a station and sat there thinking, “ok, I’ll call and ask at the store, but there’s no way that money is there”, but a little voice said, “never hurts to try”.  So, I sat there and called, I had to stay right there because I wouldn’t have reception if I headed home.  The nice lady that answered said, “I’ll go look”.  I told her it’d be a long shot, but I just thought I’d try.

When she came back on the phone, she said, “yes, your money is here, come get it.”  Wow! Really?  A nice man that came behind me grab it and turned it in, God bless him.  So, I drove back to that town and got my money, a little more hopeful for mankind, by the grace of God, I got my money back, even though I was negligent.  It felt like a miracle. 😊

Meanwhile, we had to get a new kitchen sink and we measured for it, went to the store, bought one, brought it home to install.  Ed the plumber had came to our house on Sunday and looked at it all and said he’d be back the next morning to do it.  But he never came.  So, my husband and son started to put it in and it didn’t quite fit, but he’d already drilled holes in it and did stuff to the pipes so that we couldn’t take it back.  But my husband is very smart, and he figured it out, even though we were negligent in our measurements, by the grace of God, he got it all in there and it looks and works beautiful.

None of these things are really big deals in and of themselves, they only serve to show me that even though I don’t have it all together, God is always watching out for me. Another example of this week’s serendipity happenings is, today my husband and I are planning a little over night get away.  I had planned to take our boy with us, but, at the last minute his older sister texted me while we were watching the new Spiderman movie- loved it by the way. She asked if he could come stay with her a few days and their other sister would be there also. My grand-daughter that lives back east was flying in to spend time with them too. I said of course, having the three together again is huge blessing for them.

Their using parents have all but torn them kids and lives to pieces, if not for other family, they could have separated for good.  It just does my heart good to know, that right now, the three are all together, by the grace of God! Even though life has neglected them due to addiction, they have found a way to thrive and be together.

So, that serendipity happening is a gift for the three kids, and for my husband and I to have a little quick away to ourselves. We’re headed to a beach town and then a bucket list thing for me, going to a famous little Christmas town.  Living our best lives for these holiday times, because “by the grace of God” we can!

I hope you all enjoy your holiday times with your people and experience what the grace of God can do for you, watch for it, it’s there, happening all around you.

Question of the Week:    Have you experienced the Grace lately? If you think not, look again.
