Flag Day!

June 14, 2021, 1777 is the day the resolution for Flag Day was passed.  In 1916 President Wilson made it official.

I don’t know what Flag Day means for you, probably not much, but in our camp, it means birthdays! My husband and three grandkids were all born on June 14. 😊   We all think that’s great because we are a family that honors our country, flag and the men and women who have fought to keep our flag flying in freedom.  Let’s hope that it stays that way for years to come.

We will have a small celebration for my husband today, yesterday was a big party for the grandkids with all their friends and others.  It seems I’ve been around big family celebrations lately. This last Friday we laid my beautiful sister to rest and had a celebration of life gathering afterwards, I love being with my family.

However, today kinda went sideways, for reason undisclosed at this time, but I will do my best to honor my husband give him the best time possible.  He is a good man, but sometimes misunderstood.  I am not here to apologize for him, he needs no apology.  He is the best man I have ever known, well, right next to my grandpa.  He is honest, loving, caring and has deep feelings that can be hurt.

All this to say, the saga of the addicted family continues and life goes on.  He and I realize we cannot fix everybody or make them all happy.  We tried, we’re done trying, we’re too old for that.  I leave it all to my God and I will invoke my first step, actually the first three steps.  I can’t, He can, I think I’ll let Him. Amen.  And that’s that.  Ain’t freedom grand?

Well, this one is short today, I am happy to say my BFF is here visiting me and gonna help me with pictures and stuff. I’m just happy she’s here.  It’s nice to have an ally around, we’ve been friends for nearly 40 years and been through a lot together.  She gets it.  It was her birthday last week also, as well as two other grand-daughters and we have more coming up.

So, go wave your flag, claim your freedom and give someone a hug today.

Question of the Week:  What do you do for Flag Day?  For Junemas?
